Here a new design in the 8 m range. A DUO 800 but symmetrical. This design has symmetrical hulls.
Why ? The load capacity is bigger and the whetted surface smaller. Which means more speed under low wind conditions. The wider hulls enable the installation of a bath room and an extra berth in the other hull. The sleek nacelle is very easy to build. The boat will weight 830 kg. So trailing behind a modest car is still possible. With the DUO 800 long passages where made. With the DUO 800 S this can be done in more comfort.
Like my other designs the boat is build in the ply(wood) glass, Epoxy system. Still the best system for amateur boat building.
