Dynamic
Hovercraft
Craft
in hover mode. Forward fan generates air cushion to
lift
craft. The craft can also be used on land,
ice or snow.
These configuration needs less power
to
lift of the water surface as a W.I.G. with
a V-hull.
At
a speed of about 43 kn the wings support the craft.
If once
in ground effect the forward fan is switched
to idle and do's
not use power from the engine any
more.
OTHER TYPES
Besides this main types of pure
WIG crafts, other vehicles
exists ore
being under development. For example in
surface
effect ships (S.E.S.) in combination
with a WIG craft.
Example: the Hoverwing
from Fischer Flugmechanik, or
New hovercrafts
and ram WIG combinations.
