Cormorant
voyaging catamaran
Back to the future. This catamaran is as modern today as it was when I designed the boat 1992.
The CORMORANT was designed for a Dutch customer. He wanted a fast
and sea worthy boat but with sufficient space to use the boat also as
an office.
The lay out speaks for it self. This is a very comfortable boat with enough privacy for everyone on board. See pictures.
Construction is plywood/foam/glass/Epoxy composite. Compare the
weight to production catamarans and you will know
why I design in this construction system.
It is a big project for an amateur. I reckon with 4000 hours to build this boat.
The boat sails now somewhere in the Caribbean.
The very complete plan consists of 54 drawings and a construction description.
Plan costs € 1800,-
The study plan includes speed prediction, dynamic stability diagram, list of material etc.
